Charleston Day was born and raised in Pontiac, Michigan where he graduated from Pontiac Central High School. He furthered his education by studying music and theology at St. Mary's. Mr. Day worked for many years in the Pontiac School District serving as a Head Football Coach, Dean of Students, and Site Director for a School-wide After-School Program called "Project Synergy".

Mr. Day has received several awards from organizations and the City of Pontiac & Detroit for his outstanding work with youth. Charleston's musical background has allowed him to organize college choirs, win awards, and travel. Mr. Day served as the Football Defensive Coordinator & High School Administrator for Westside Christian Academy in Detroit. Charleston mentors several young men in and outside the State. He serves on the Board of Directors for Incarcerated Youth Ministries and Project-U-Turn. He is the founding member of a national recording group, "The Gideon Crew" who has been seen via television in over 8 countries. He runs the only urban faith-based community center in Detroit. Mr. Day is available as a guest speaker, workshop presenter, panelist, and host events.

Founder of RubyGirl Teen Program

Michelle "Sonnie" Day was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. She graduated from Mumford High School in Detroit, where she furthered her education in mortuary science, organizational development, management, and holds Doctorate status in Educational Leadership. Working throughout several years in various schools in the Metropolitan Detroit area, birthed her passion for youth and education. In 1999, the vision was given for RubyGirl, it wasn't until 2005 when God gave rebirth and confirmed the vision,and RubyGirl was launched. Michelle is known to many in the music industry as Sonnie Day where she has won several music awards, released  3 albums and shared the stage with popular artist. She is a Coordinator, Author, Speaker, Singer, Songwriter, Consultant, Life Coach, Wife & Mother are just some hats she wears. Michelle serves on the Board of Directors of Incarcerated Youth Ministry. She served for years as Committee Member for the Michigan Female Responsive Task Force with the Bureau of Juvenile Justice. Michelle is available to facilitate workshops, be a guest speaker, panelist and host events.

Staff Members

Crystal Hicks, Assistant Director
Crystal Hicks Was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. She earned her Bachelors degree in elementary education from Eastern Michigan University and her Master's degree in curriculum and instruction from the University of Phoenix. She also received her administrators certification from Grand Valley State University. She is currently the Director of Intervention at Hanley International Academy in Hamtramck, MI. Education and youth development has always been a passion of hers. She is currently the assistant director and parent club coordinator for Project-u-Turn, where she has been an active member of the staff for 10 years. In her free time she enjoys reading, traveling, spending time with her family and playing with her dog "Sammie".

Jacob Moore, Support Staff
Jacob Moore was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. Mr. Moore assist Mr. Day in operational task for It's-N-The Male, also serves as Basketball Coach for our 12 and under PUT Gators team. Mr. Moore is an asset to Project-U-Turn, his life experiences allows him to educate young men in our prevention awareness workshops. His personality and relevant messages makes the young men welcome to receiving and applying. Currently, Mr. Moore is in school for Engineering.

Arnisa Williams, Support Staff
Arnisa Williams was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. She is the proud mother of two beautiful daughters.  She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from University of Phoenix. She also has her LLCP which is her Limited Licensee to practice Counseling and is a member of the National Counselors Association. She is currently the Dean of Discipline at a Charter school and a contractual Counselor who handles CPS cases in the Wayne Community area. She is currently a staff member of Project –u-Turn where she has been a member for 10 years.
